ORDINANCE 2020-02

AN ORDINANCE TO MAKE THE POSITION OF CITY ATTORNEY FOR THE CITY OF GASSVILLE, ARKANSAS AN APPOINTED ONE IN ACCORDANCE WITH A.C.A 14-42-112 AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 

WHEREAS: In accordance with A.C.A. 14-42-112, the City of Gassville desires to make the position of City Attorney an appointed position. 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GASSVILLE, ARKANSAS: 

SECTION 1. That the Mayor of the City of Gassville, Arkansas shall appoint a properly licensed attorney in the state of Arkansas and the Mayor's appointment shall be confirmed by a majority vote of the City Council meeting in regular session. 

SECTION 2. The appointed City Attorney shall carry out all duties detailed to the position in accordance with A.C. A. 14-42-112, or until such time as state law requires otherwise. 

SECTION 3. SEVERANCE. Both parties are subject to severance of the appointment with thirty (30) days written notice to be announced during a City Council meeting in regular session.

SECTION 4. SALARY. The salary for the City Attorney position shall be $300.00 (three-hundred dollars) per month and shall be included in a line item from General Fund (salary/expenses) in the City of Gassville fiscal year budget.
