ORDINANCE 2022-10

AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A CIVIL AND SMALL CLAIMS COURT SESSIONS VENUE FOR THE GASSVILLE DEPARTMENT OF THE BAXTER COUNTY DISTRICT COURT AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 

WHEREAS, Arkansas law requires each court of the 10th District Court to have separate divisions for small claims, civil, criminal, and traffic; and 

WHEREAS, it has been the practice of all courts in Baxter County to have all civil and small claims filed and heard in one location as a matter of convenience to the parties, attorneys and the court system; and 

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Gassville, Arkansas and the District Judge agree that all civil and small claims cases brought before the Gassville Department of Baxter County District Court shall be held in a different venue. 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GASSVILLE, ARKANSAS: 

SECTION 1. That all civil and small claims cases for the Gassville Department of Baxter County District Court will be held in the Mountain Home Department at the Baxter County Court Complex at the time(s) and date(s) set by the District Judge.
