ORDINANCE 2025-01

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF GASSVILLE, ARKANSAS FOR SPECIAL AND EMERGENCY CITY COUNCIL MEETINGS, DECLARING AN EMERGENCY AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 

WHEREAS, it is sometimes necessary for the efficient operation of city business to have special and emergency City Council meetings; and 

WHEREAS, the Gassville City Council has deemed it necessary to establish the regulations for calling such meetings. 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GASSVILLE, ARKANSAS: 

SECTION1. MUNICIPAL CODE 2.20.02 OF THE CITY OF GASSVILLE-SPECIAL MEETINGS: 
is hereby amended to read as follows: Special meetings of the Council of the City of Gassville, Arkansas may be held upon the call of the Mayor whenever in his or her opinion it shall be necessary, or by (3) three members of the Council by giving at least (3) three hours' notice of such special meeting by telephone or in writing, as time allows, which notice shall be served personally to all members of the Council. Said notice shall state the time of the meeting and the purpose thereof. 

SECTION 2. MEDIA NOTIFICATION: All special or emergency meetings are open to the public and media notification of said time and date of meeting shall be given to radio and newspapers in Baxter County that cover the city of Gassville Council meetings or have requested such notification (A.C.A. 25-19-106).  government that Section 2.20.02 of the Gassville Municipal code be amended, now, therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall be in effect upon the date approved below. 

SECTION 3. EMERGENCY. Whereas it is necessary for the efficient operation of City government that Section 2.20.02 of the Gassville Municipal code be amended, now, therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall be in effect upon the date approved below.
